Nourish: A Restorative Winter Experience

A winter yoga and nature retreat with Blaine and Robin, Feb.15-17, 2020

Join us this holiday long weekend to help nourish yourself with a restorative winter experience. Taking in the elements of the outdoors through guided snowshoeing*, fresh air, and star-gazing from the hot tub, and then warm up inside with some blankets and yoga props to enjoy the stillness of cozy candlelit Restorative and Yin practices in the evenings, and gentle mindful movement in the mornings.

There will be plenty of time to curl up inside with a book in front of the fire, enjoy the outdoor hot tubs, or hang out together in the games room (pool table, ping pong, board games, library of books). Think comfy chairs, blankets and fuzzy slippers. We will finish off both nights with outdoor bon fires. Option to book personal appointments for Acupuncture and Massage** during free time.

Healthy hot and delicious, freshly prepared meals will nourish the system with seasonal farm to table ingredients, bringing the vitality of nutrients with a fully vegan menu***.

* Weather permitting, snowshoes provided (rental cost included in retreat fees), or BYO.
In the event of no snow, an all weather hike will take place instead

** Appointments as per booking availability, services provided by Cabot Shores, additional cost.

Meet the Instructors:

Robin Thompson

Nominated one of Halifax’s Best Yoga Instructors in 2019, Robin’s weekly Restorative and Nidra class received the national placement of one of Canada’s Top Fitness Classes by Flare Magazine in 2018. Come and experience this for yourself during our retreat, as will be offered on Sunday evening.

Robin brings over 500 hours of certified yoga teacher training, Thai Yoga Massage and thousands of hours of teaching over the last 8 years from Halifax, and India. She is a part of Halifax’s On The Mat yoga studio where she teaches classes and workshops. Beyond the Mat, Robin’s boundless enthusiasm and caring approach to life frequently takes her to India where she immerses herself in the culture, run a children’s charity and share these experiences while co-leading authentic India retreats.

Robin grew up in a temperate rainforest on B.C’s West Coast, experiencing some of the most beautiful nature in the world. Being an environmentalist led to her BA in Environmental Studies and Resource Geography from UVic. This respect for and understanding of the Earth brought her to yoga, and exploring the interconnectedness between the two.
