Located on the Atlantic side of the Cabot Trail, Cabot Shores is a second home to guests from all over the world. We offer a range of traditional and unique accommodations, outdoor adventures, wellness services, cultural activities and serve nutritious meals in our Bistro. Join our team of hardworking, fun-loving staff and spend the summer in a beautiful setting, enjoying activities onsite such as meditation, Qi Gong, kayaking, hiking, swimming, music jams, and more.
Duties include:
- Welcome guests and provide excellent customer service
- Perform check-in and check-out procedures
- Promote our accommodations via online travel agent such as AirBnb, TripAdvisor, Expedia, etc.
- Manage online and phone reservations including taking payments
- Provide information about availability, lodging, rates, bistro, amenities & packages
- Address complaints and go the extra mile to make sure all guests are satisfied
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all accommodations are set up
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and outgoing personality
- Participate in a fun and dynamic team environment
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritize tasks and take initiative
- Pay attention to detail and fully complete tasks
- Be coachable and willing to learn
- Experience with computers and basic Microsoft software
- Social Media knowledge and graphic design experience an asset
- Enjoy being in a rural area of Cape Breton
- Knowledge of local Cape Breton Island cultural events and outdoor activities an asset

- Hourly wage
- Work Term of 8 to 13 weeks, starting no earlier than May 1st, 2019 and ending no later than august 31st, 2019

Marketing Assistant

- Oversee, develop and manage marketing campaigns to promote & deliver events including Music Festivals, Culinary Feasts, Educational Workshops, Wellness & Yoga Retreats, Group Hikes, Multi-Cultural experiences with mentors and participants across different cultures
- Promote our accommodations on Social Media and with online travel agent such as AirBnb, TripAdvisor, Expedia, etc.
- Conduct research and analyze data to identify and define audiences
- Develop and present ideas and strategies
- Implement and continue current promotional activities
- Compile and distribute financial and statistical information
- Writing and proofread creative copy
- Maintain websites and look at data analytics
- Organize events and product exhibitions
- Update databases and use a customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Coordinate internal marketing and an organization’s culture
- Monitor performance

Special Event Coordinator

Duties include:
- Help educate, promote & deliver events including Music Festivals, Culinary Feasts, Educational Workshops, Wellness and Yoga Retreats, Group Hikes, Multi-Cultural experiences with mentors & participants across different cultures
- Planning, organizing and coordinating events
- Create and distribute event listing pages on social media websites
- Manage event setup, tear-down and follow ups
- Build and adhere to an event budget to avoid project overruns
- Establish standardized event procedures and train staff into properly executing them
- Track event key performance areas and identify items to work on future event
- Involve in websites, blogs, social media development & maintenance
