7th Annual New Year’s Levee is coming to Cabot Shores

Above you see Helen Thompson with a new friend at last year’s New Year’s Levee.  Helen was a wonderful, spirited member of the Indian Brook community and at 99, had  a rare sense of elegance in her bearing, quiet energy, and warmth.  And she was always up for the levee or  a concert.  She had mischievous grin when her daughter Bonnie and Dr Paul came in from their polar bear swim.   She’d  say:  “better get by the fire and warm up!”  …

Just after her 99th birthday, Helen passed away  peacefully and in honor of Helen, we are happy to bring back what has become an annual Cabot Trail  tradition- – the New Year’s Levee at Cabot Shores.  All are invited to join in the fun on Wednesday, 1 January, 2014 at Cabot Shores Lodge, from 3-6pm.  Folks from Cape Breton and beyond attend this gathering.

This winter event is about community and all are invited free of charge.  A festive and tasty soup and entree will be served (guests may bring a side dish, salad or dessert); coffee and tea will also be provided.
