Spend an hour, a day, or longer reconnecting with your one true self.  A Wellness Retreat experience at Cabot Shores is guaranteed to renew your spirit and leave you feeling blissfully calm and centered.

What is a Wellness Retreat?  The answer is surprisingly simple.  A Wellness Retreat can be whatever you choose it to be and for whatever length of time you need.  At Cabot Shores, we offer a wide variety of healing spaces in which to nurture your soul.  Whether it’s a relaxing massage in the privacy of your own chalet, a group yoga session at Whiff’s Lodge or solitude hiking  our beautiful grounds and trails, we’ll work with you to coordinate the perfect Wellness Retreat for you and/or your group.

Gate Of Life Healing Arts

Owner and Acupuncturist, Barbara Weinberg, brings her special gifts in the healing arts to Cabot Shores guests every day.  Barbara offers early morning Qi Gong sessions, Group Meditations, private and group Five Element Acupuncture services, Five Element Meditative Walks , as well as Zero Balancing and Acupressure sessions throughout the year at Cabot Shores.

The word yoga means “union” in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit.  Yoga helps you to relax and overcome stress.  Physically, yoga creates a toned, flexible, and strong body.  In addition, yoga builds awareness of your body, your feelings, the world around you, the needs of others.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.

Massage Therapy

The term “massage therapy” encompasses many forms of healing, including some of those mentioned above.  Cabot Shores is pleased to offer many types of hands-on services on-site.  There’s no better way to sink into your time here and ease your tired body than to begin with a relaxing massage.

Healing Artists in Residency

Combine your time with us during the stay of one of our Healing Artists in Residence.   When on premise, our resident healing artist will make a morning offering to the guests of Cabot Shores as well as offer their healing modality to guests during their time here.  “Morning Offerings” are a type of experiential exercise that our artist specializes in.  They are meant to enhance your sense of well being and begin your day fully present and alive.

I am interested in one of your retreats to come for a week or two. Can you please let me know how accessibly you are with public transit from Halifax. I will not have car but will be flying into Halifax from Toronto. I would like to come in July and will be on my own so I would appreciate it if you could clarify what retreats would be offered in July. I would love a combination of yoga, healthy eating, gentle hikes and outdoor activities.

I am looking to go on a week long yoga retreat. Do you have an upcoming retreat? September or October would be the best months.
