Qi Gong & Morning Meditation

Complimentary but must be booked the prior evening

Based on Chinese Medicine, Qi Gong is a series of gentle exercises that aid in the movement of human life energy known as Qi. The aim of these exercises is to limber up the joints, open up the breathing, focus the mind, stimulate circulation, and increase a sense of well-being.

Meditation is an ancient practice for letting go of habitual thinking. In the gaps between thoughts, a sense of awareness develops, allowing for a fuller and richer experience of one’s mind.

During these brief morning sessions, you will be guided through a mindfulness and awareness meditation practice. The sessions are open to beginners as well as more advanced students. A great way to start the day!

We offer complimentary 30-minute Qi Gong and Meditation sessions at 9:30am, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, in our beautiful Studio Loft upstairs in the Event Space Building. Please reserve your spot with the front desk staff on the prior evening.

Reiki Treatment (Energy Healing)

$95 (60 mins)

$135 (90 mins)

$150 for 2 Treatments - 60 mins each. (Special Promotion)

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

When using Reiki you cleanse the meridians, harmonizing energy levels and promote a smooth flow of reserve energy to the areas under attack, thus restoring the balance. Practising Reiki increases our reserves of energy, thus preventing any possible future outbreak of illness.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Reiki goes to the root of whatever most needs healing at the time of it's application, and the root may lie in any one of those 'bodies'. Reiki stimulates and boosts your Inner Healer.

Five Element Acupuncture

Five Element Acupuncture is an ancient form of acupuncture that works by treating a person at the levels of body, mind, and heart or spirit. By placing very fine, sterile needles into points in different parts of the body, a person’s Qi, or life-force energy, is stimulated and encouraged to move in its proper fashion, thereby encouraging the healing process.

Conditions that respond well to acupuncture include GI and circulatory disorders, headaches, women’s health issues, allergies, muscle and joint pain, stress-related illnesses, and many others.

Please book your appointment 24 hours in advance with our Front Desk staff.

Cape Breton Rated Top 10 Romantic Places in Canada

"Possibly the most romantic aspect of vacationing on Cape Breton Island is the fact that things move slowly there. You can live in your hotel room for days without missing your laptop. You can take a snowshoeing trip to areas with no cell-phone service and never miss that annoying buzz that comes every five minutes. In Cape Breton it’s all about you, your partner and breathtaking landscapes. Visiting Cape Breton takes relaxation to new levels, which means you have nothing but time to devote to the one you love the most."

"Perfect for Healing the Soul"

Barb's Qi-gong sessions in the morning were fantastic, and her acupuncture treatments at the healing arts Center were just what I needed. This place is not a destination, but rather an experience.

Group Acupuncture

"With Barbara, I received sessions of acupuncture in the group setting that focused on obsessive behavior. During the second session, I had a revelation that will change my thinking about my eating habits forever."

~ DM, mother and massage therapist

"Treated Like a Queen"

Wake up in the morning to a stunning sunrise. Join the meditation, or sign up for acupuncture. The private hot tub was the next beautiful thing in the evening just before settling down. I will go there again that's for sure.

"Relax and Unplug"

We had the pleasure of experiencing acupuncture from Barbara and we highly recommend her services. She was so helpful in explaining the process. We took our time walking around the property and were taken away by the beautiful landscape. It was the perfect spot to nurture ourselves before we started a busy summer.

We had an excellent stay! We stayed in the tiny house and got the hot tub as an addition - the house was an adorable little cabin, very clean and had everything we needed (mini fridge, microwave and more!). The hot tub was worth the addition! Paul and the staff were so considerate, he even called me before we arrived and let me know how the roads were and to make sure I knew how to get to the tiny house since we were probably arriving after dark. I can’t say enough good things! We will definitely be back!

My husband and I got married at Cabot Shores last October, after staying there multiple times in the past and falling in love with the scenery and food!! Paul was amazing to deal with leading up to the wedding! I was definitely a needy bride lol and he was always so patient and helpful with everything. The whole thing went off without any issues at all and my guests had a great time and raved on and on about the food! We are huge out door people and loved the whole vibe ! We can’t wait to go back again soon and make more wonderful memories at this slice of heaven in our favourite place in the world, Cape Breton !!

An unforgettable experience for a family trip. A yurt experience is more than just lodging, especially if you have young children. What is most impressive of all is the owner and his wife, who are so kind and affectionate.

Stayed in the Phoenix Dome for 2 nights and had the most wonderful experience. The dome was lovely and stayed warm through the night. The highlight of our stay was the food. My husband has been a chef for 20+ years and was blown away by the quality of the food. We had dinner one evening and the salmon was absolute perfection. We were lucky enough to be the only guests for breakfast so they cooked us a few items instead of the buffet and we enjoyed every bite. Hands down the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten! The staff were so wonderful, kind and accommodating. We would love to return and spend more time here exploring the trails and relaxing on the beach. Thank you to everyone at Cabot Trail for such a wonderful experience!

Hot tubs were great, overlooking the gorgeous water view. Yurt was super comfortable, very spacious, and even when the fire died while we were sleeping, we stayed cozy and warm - the bedding was superb. Recommendation for Red River Trail was great, and we enjoyed the hike very much.

The staff at Cabot Shores actively took opportunities to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Our Mongolian Yurt was comfortable with the wood stove and outside hot tub. Would strongly recommend calling these fine folks and discussing your stay with them.

Very nice place to spend a couple of nights in the nature! My wife and I enjoyed our stay.It might be a good idea to install a heater in the dome as it can get chilly at night.

We had a great stay in the Eagle Dome! We loved watching the sunset and sunrise, and being able to hear the waves from the ocean. Next time we would stay a few more days and prepare a bit better - we weren’t packed for off grid but we made it work. Outhouse was a few steps away, shower and toilet a short walk. We didn’t get the hot tub or use the sauna/other amenities but would certainly consider it next time.
