Holly of CBC came out to interview Dr. Paul on Yurts.
Coincidentally, two guests were celebrating their 1oth anniversary by staying
in the Yurt, so Holly is shown interviewing them as well.  Cabot Shores was and is
the first “Yurt Resort” and Yurts are now also in Kejimajusik Park.
 
Dr. Paul also referred CBC to the owners of Little Foot Yurts and they are on the
Maritime Noon program as well.

This season, record number of inquiries are coming from our websites and over the phone concerning our Yurt and Tipi.  A few folks even contacted us during winter, but for now they are closed till mid-May (you can see the winter frame of the Tipi on the right of this page)

What’s a Yurt?
The Yurt or Ger is a kind of Mongolian-styled structure, comparable to a First Nations Tipi.  Used by nomadic peoples, it was originally made of felt and furs.  Now, after being westernized by folks from Oregon and British Columbia, it is transformed to be:

Complete with windows looking out on the lake, Atlantic Ocean & Bird Islands
16.5 feet in diameter
Equipped with a skylight
An interior that has beds and conveniences (minus electricity and plumbing, but you’re near the Lodge)
