Open year round. Choose between a beautiful chalet, a magical yurt, a treetop or tranquility dome, cozy lodge room, or a campsite. Cabot Shores is the perfect base camp to explore Cape Breton and the Cabot Trial. But first, explore our great packages.
Family reunions, business meetings, team-building, group retreats, Christmas parties – whatever holiday or meeting you have in mind, Cabot Shores is happy to host it! From accommodation over meals to wellness or adventures, you can pick from a wide range of options. Here’s what we have to offer – and what makes us different.
Location: Getting Away from Distractions
Being on a 55 acres property along the Cabot Trail means having the wilderness on your doorstep. There are the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the shore, Bald Eagles soaring over the Indian Brook river and beautiful forest hikes around. Including nature in your event means you will add a unique sense of adventure and even peacefulness. From our main lodge and GoBistro dining room, you have views of the Bird Islands in the ocean as well as Church Pond.
Hidden away on Cape Breton Island, Cabot Shores brings your team away from the office, the phone – as there is no mobile reception in the wilderness – and all those other distractions. Isn’t this the perfect venue for a conference? But this doesn’t necessarily mean long distances. Cabot Shores is in Indian Brook, only 45 minutes from Sydney.
Accommodation: Yurts, domes, rooms and chalets
If you don’t want to drive home after a dining or are planning a getaway anyways: Spend a night or two. We can accommodate between 54 (based on double occupancy) and 93 people during the summer months, 40 (based on double occupancy) to 65 from fall to spring.
If you want more privacy for your group meeting, all our Chalets have a living area as well as a fully equipped kitchen downstairs. Up to 9 people can stay in one of them. They have 2 bedrooms each, with queen, double and single beds depending on your needs. More double and queen rooms are available in our main Lodge with private bathrooms.
If you want to make your over-night stay truly memorable, our Mongolian and Cedar Yurts – and the Domes in summer – make for unique experience. They are equipped with queen or double beds, some also with bunks or single beds to accomodate more than 2 people.
Linen and towels are provided for a stress free stay!
Dinner: From buffets to elevated meals
Since June 2016, we’re happy to have Ron MacNeil & Nicole Finney on board as our chefs in the GoBistro. They’re passionate about cooking from scratch, for example homemade Gnocchi & pasta, sauces, baked goods and pickles. Together they have been overseeing mutiple restaurants and banquet facilities, the latest being a wilderness resort in Saskatchewan. Read more about our food philosophy and their biographies on this page.
The Great Room in the lodge serves as stimulating and cozy background for your meals, with the hearth in its center, art on the walls and lots of hangings from all across the world. If you need a projector, we also got that covered. Up to 70 people can be served in the GoBistro with its fully licensed bar. Private functions are possiple from 20 people upwards.
We’d like to personalize your dinner experience. As it is one part of our philosophy, we pay respect to your dietary needs, no matter if your guests are gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan. For special occasions, you can choose from this range:
- Buffets: traditional or international, choose a theme or meat
- Plated Dinners: 3 to 4 courses, including appetizer, entrée and dessert
- Elevated meals: a multi-course dinner (possible with wine pairing also) for a memorable experience
Talk with us about an open bar, a cash bar or selecting wines, beers or other drinks to accompany your meals.
Offers: Adventurous & relaxing
Are you in love with the outdoors? So are we. There are hikes or snowshoeing in the winter available out the door, you can go out on the pond in kayaks, canoes or stand up paddle boards. We can give you advice for the National Park or take you on guided hikes.
