These days, with extended daylight and sunny weather, the solar hot air heaters – Cansolair – are going all out.  They work  very simply and directly in the following way:

A couple of very small fans pull cold air out of the ground floor of the lodge and run it through 2 panels mounted on the outside of the lodge. Inside the panels, the cold air passes through a series of cans heated by the sun.  In the process, the air itself is heated. A second small fan blows hot air back into one of the guest rooms and into the Bistro kitchen – and voila!

The best thing about it?  Cansolair is made from recycled material – beer and pop cans. Can’t beat that!

The units were purchased and installed through Mi’kmaq Energy, owned by Karlena Johnson Sylliboy. Karlena and team did a good job and we’re most grateful. Now all we need is Sun in December and January, as well as the warmer months like March!

Hi, your post is quite informative and interest to learn more about alternative energy sources. I think your reader might be interested in solar energy batteries as well.
