During the 2012 season, Cabot Shores began offering daily morning meditation and contemplation practice to our guests and staff. To our surprise and delight, many people participated.
Most people felt that meditating even for a short time was a great way to start the day – with the mind fresh and clear.
During the winter months, Cabot Shores invites members of the local St.Ann’s community and the general public (guests to the area) to meditate with us on Sunday afternoons between 3-4pm.
Join us in mindfulness-awareness meditation and contemplation practice in the Shambhala Meditation tradition.
Beginners as well as experienced meditators are invited to attend – instruction will be provided – your questions are welcome.
This event is free of charge - bring a friend – no need to RSVP. Or if unfamiliar with the area, please call 902 929 2584 or email info at cabotshores.com
Why meditate? In Living Beautifully with Uncertainty and Change, Pema Chodron, resident teacher at Gampo Abbey, Cape Breton, writes:
The true nature of our mind is as vast as the sky…our thoughts and emotions are like clouds obscuring the sky…If we want to experience the boundlessness of the sky, we’ll need to get curious about those clouds.
We invite you to explore our minds through meditation and glimpse moments of its vastness.
