Building a Wood-fired Pizza Oven

Matt, Kali and master craftsman Nico Stocklin built a wood-fired pizza oven.
It was built from fire brick and local clay, used as mortar. After it was constructed, a chimney was
added and a metal roof to protect it from the fury of the winter weather and sea winds at Cabot Shores.
Many guests have been delighted by the process of making “personalized” toppings and tasting
the unique, smokey flavour of the wood fired pizza often.
In fact, the new name for this oven is Smokey…

Atlanta Guest Sees Cape Breton Moose

Tom and his wife Judith are from Atlanta, Georgia and they’d never seen a moose before.
The first night, upon arrival, they were standing on the deck of Whiff’s lodge, facing the
ocean and hearing that they might see an eagle or moose, from the Lodge or from their chalet.
Just then an eagle flew overhead and it made Dr. Paul look like a prophet…
The next morning, Tom, an artist and writer, came into the lodge for breakfast and had an
even better story to tell…

Charley Boorman & Russ Malkin On Cabot Shores

“Be Adventurous” is the slogan of adventurer Charley Boorman and director Russ Malkin, in their company
Big Earth.
Dr Paul organized a lobster fishing adventure and back at Cabot Shores, they prepared and ate lobster, learned from chef
Carl about cooking plank salmon over a wood fire and generally interacted with local fisherman, artists and the Cabot Shores’
crew.
