Bistro – A Healthy Serving of Slow-Cooked Casual Dining
Is our food delicious? Of course it is, because we embrace the one word you want embraced — fresh. When you experience dining in our Bistro, please don’t be in a rush. We believe in slow-cooked excellence in a friendly warm atmosphere where live music can break out at any moment. Our large deck lets you soak in the sun as eagles soar high overhead.
Our outdoor chefs are kind of particular when it comes to fresh seafood. (Yes, this is an understatement.) We regularly serve local catches of lobster, crab, mussels, oyster and fish fresh from the ocean. We can also serve you a variety of succulent meat dishes.
Our Gardner-in-Chief and vegetarian/vegan chef, Barbara, offers a delectable vegetarian and vegan menu. Many recipes are “Barbara Original” creations (try our specialty Seitan stew with Shitake mushrooms).
Cabot Shores strives to use ingredients that are in their natural state, organic and local. Many of our vegetables and herbs are plucked fresh from our own organic garden, from our reclaimed apple orchard, or straight from the wild (such as wild berries or chanterelle mushrooms). What we do not grow ourselves is sourced locally in its natural, un-processed form. Our chefs also produce a variety of home-baked goods, including breads, muffins and desserts.
Occasionally, we can offer special guest chefs who up their own secret and delicious recipes, such as Maria’s mean Italian pasta sauce, or John’s Native Mi K’maq Forsen’s bread or freshly caught trout. Check out this video of a Mi’kmaq breakfast.
For breakfast, guests at Cabot Shores enjoy a full buffet of home-made granola, eggs, bread, home-made muffins, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea and coffee. If you like, we can also provide you with trail lunches for your explorations along the Cabot Trail.
We can also cater to larger groups, weddings, family reunions, educational groups, retreats, cycling tours, or other special occasions, and can work with groups to design a menu that is suitable for the dietary needs of their members. Contact us to find out more about our group catering.
