Is our food delicious? Of course it is, because we embrace the one word you want embraced — fresh. When you dine in our Bistro, please don’t be in a rush. We believe in slow-cooked excellence in a friendly warm atmosphere where live music can break out at any moment. Our large deck lets you soak in the sun as eagles soar high overhead.
Our chefs are kind of particular when it comes to seafood. (Yes, this is an understatement.) In season, we often serve local catches of lobster, crab, mussels, oyster and fish fresh from the ocean. We can also serve you a variety of succulent meat dishes.
Our Gardener-in-Chief and vegetarian/vegan chef, Barbara, offers a delectable vegetarian and vegan menu. Many recipes are “Barbara Original” creations (try our specialty Shitake & Sweet Potato Stew with Tofu).
Cabot Shores strives as much as possible to use ingredients that are in their natural state, organic and local. In season, many of our vegetables and herbs are plucked fresh from our own organic garden, from our reclaimed apple orchard, or straight from the wild (such as berries or chanterelle mushrooms). Our chefs also produce a variety of home-baked goods, including breads and desserts.
Occasionally, we can offer special guest chefs who whip up their own secret and delicious recipes, such as Maria’s mean Italian pasta sauce, or John’s Native Mi K’maq Forsen’s bread or freshly caught trout.
For breakfast, guests at Cabot Shores can enjoy a buffet of home-made granola and whole wheat bread, hard-boiled eggs, seasonal home-baked treats, fruit, home-made yogurt, tea and coffee. If you like, we can also provide you with trail lunches for your explorations along the Cabot Trail.
We can also cater to larger groups, weddings, family reunions, educational groups, retreats, cycling tours, or other special occasions, and can work with groups to accommodate special dietary requirements. Contact us to find out more about our group catering.
